Although the little one who's first birthday it truly is won't possibly remember anything about his or her big day, to their parents, this day is definitely a milestone. A year before, they shared a very special moment together- bringing life into this world.
I was not only stoked, but extremely excited when I was asked to bake cupcakes for my dear friends' little boy's first birthday. Not only is it a privilege to get to create his first birthday treat, but being my (and my husband's) first godson, I couldn't say no.
I was requested to make "cupcakes with strawberries somewhere. Definitely no chocolate because he's never tried it before", which poses a tiny set back because strawberries=pink and this treat was for a baby boy. I decided to go all out with the strawberry theme and made Strawberry Cupcakes with Fresh Strawberry Buttercream.
While searching for something fun to add to the little cakes I stumbled upon the scrapbooking isle in a locale store. I couldn't resist these adorable (and very boy-like) tiny signs which coincidentally were all about "firsts". "First Friends", "First Bath", "First Tooth", "First Haircut", etc.
It was perfect!
