Fresh, seasonal fruit is a chef and pastry chef's delight! Those ingredients are in their prime- as flavorful as they are going to get. That is why you'll often find us walking around a local farmer's market or high end grocery store searching for the perfect ingredient while they're "in season".
To me, Summer=Strawberries! Sure you can get them all year long, but only in the summer will you find these little delights at their prime. Juicy, incredibly sweet, bold red in color...you can even smell their strawberry scent! They're like a little fruit candy. Can you tell I love strawberries??
We use a buttery and flaky crust, fill the bottom with a vanilla bean sweet cream and layer on organic sliced strawberries. Finally I brushed a thin layer of Organic Homemade Strawberry Jam on top (Oh, I am completely serious!) to give it a shine!
