When I made this sweet treat for a friend, I just couldn't help but take a picture of it as soon as it came out of the oven. This was so absolutely beautiful- it just screamed to have its picture taken!
I wish I could have uploaded a video, but alas a picture will have to do. In between each of the windows of crust, this mixed berry, cherry and vanilla bean sugar filling was bubbling up through. It looked like a delicious Merlot colored hot lava (haha)- just steaming and showing itself through those squares...and giving off the most delicious smell throughout the house! Oh my gosh this smelled so good!!!
This pie had a combination of raspberries, cherries, blackberries, and blueberries are mixed with real vanilla bean sugar and a tiny bit of orange zest to give a sort of fresh taste. Baked in a homemade and super yummy sweet cream butter crust, and topped with a real lattice top crust- this pie was something to dive into!
This is a beautiful and delicious pie! My family LOVED it on Thanksgiving. It smelled amazing as we warmed it in the oven. I wish we had left overs of this!
ReplyDeleteIs this recipe posted somewhere? It looks delicious and your description makes it sound even more amazing! We just picked cherries today.
