christmas themed cake...

Handmade edible fondant Peppermint Candy inspired bottom border.

Handmade edible gum paste Holly decorated the top.

Wow, we've been getting a lot of holiday orders! That's so incredibly exciting. Seriously. God really has been providing for us- and showing Himself more and more. We are so thankful for these orders He's blessed us with. Keep it coming! ;)

I was asked to do a 6" Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting for a family friend. mmmmmMMmm! If you've been a follower of my blog- you velvet is my FAVORITE flavor cake, ever! It's such the perfect combination of chocolate and vanilla flavors- then if paired with a good cream cheese frosting...YUM!!

Anyway, I received this "order" for a Christmas inspired cake, and the friend said to do whatever I wanted, but "keep it simple". :) How fun!! We love when I'm given free range in creativity. A million things went through my head as to how I could decorate this cake- but I settled with two very simple (and very Christmas) edible handmade gum paste decorations: holly and a peppermint inspired bottom border. I think it came out pretty neat! What do you think?
