I love baby showers! In fact, I pretty much love any shower- baby, engagement, bridal...it doesn't matter. I just think they're so much fun!
A few weeks ago I was asked to do some cupcakes for a friend's very cute baby shower. Their color theme was chocolate brown and aqua, and their nursery included butterflies. Cute right?? The shower itself would showcase all of these, so the cupcakes naturally had to as well.
The order was this: Vanilla Bean Cupcakes. Half of which were frosted with our Chocolate Ganache Frosting, the other half- Vanilla Bean Buttercream tinted aqua. Each one was to be adorned with an edible white butterfly.
It's always a tiny challenge thinking up the best way to execute edible decorations. We, of course, are wanting them to be the cutest things people have seen BUT we also have to think of stability. Will this be too fragile? Will this break during transport? Will this actually look like a ____ ? These butterflies were no exception. I knew from the get-go I wanted them to be more 3-D, looking like they've just flown down and landed upon each cupcake...I didn't want some flat, boring thing!
Thank you so much for this opportunity! I heard they loved them (and so did their guests!)... Congrats to the mama-to-be!
