Hey friends, happy Tuesday!!! I'm just so excited to share this super yummy recipe with you all! Mackenzie, A.K.A. Susie- has been a bloggy friend of mine for some time now. Over the last year or so I have watched her blog grow into one amazing (and totally mouth watering) collection of delicious recipes. She's funny, sweet, and totally quirky! When I asked her if she'd like to guest post- I knew whatever she came up with would be yum to the O!
She didn't leave me disappointed! Please allow me to introduce you to one of my really good bloggerista friends, the talented Susie Freaking Homemaker!
Hi everyone!! My name is Mackenzie – or Susie – depending on who you talk to! I am a twenty something newlywed who lives in Minneapolis. My favorite color is green, I’m a libra in more ways than I care to admit, and I’m convinced I have the greatest dog on earth (a french bulldog – Abby).
I met the lovely Christina almost a year ago – and instantly fell for her quirky personality and the posts where she just tells it like it is. We bonded over a love for the great state of Cali (where she lives) and where I got married. The next time I’m out there I fully plan on making a trip to meet her in person! It’s so odd to be friends with someone you’ve never met, but in the blog world it just feels right!
I started my blog about a year and a half ago. There are about a million reasons why. I was always making something for dinner, and my friends were always asking about the recipes. There was always the running joke that I was Susie freaking homemaker. Before I knew it a blog was born!
I am so excited to guest post – I have been thinking about all the things I could make for this post, and I settled on chocolate. It’s hard not to love the stuff! I also wanted the recipe to be healthy(ish). So, “protein packed” truffles were the winning combo!
I have never taken a bite out of anything and taken a picture of it. Personally, I find it a bit creepy, and I find myself wanting to thank my mom for paying for braces as a kid!
Protein Packed Truffles
*Adapted from FitnessTreats
- 4 teaspoons cocoa powder, plus extra to roll them in at the end
- 1 tablespoon plain greek yogurt – I used chobani vanilla, use your favorite
- 5 tablespoons protein powder – I used vanilla flavored, but you can use chocolate!
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 3 teaspoons agave nectar
- Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl until well combine, and sticky.
- Place in the fridge, covered for about 30 minutes.
- Pull it out and roll into balls. You can decide if you want large ones or small ones – I did a few of each.
- Roll into a little bit of cocoa powder and devour!
Thank you SO much Macken---errr Susie for this amazing recipe! Can't wait to try it!!!
