san luis obispo // part 1...

The weekend after Memorial Day, my husband and I took a little trip up north with our friend to visit another friend in San Luis Obispo. Although only a 3-day trip, it was exactly what we had hoped for. Filled with friends, relaxation, laughs, amazing food and adventure- the three of us came home satisfied and filled (and exhausted). Maybe I was the only exhausted one. I think I slept for 12 hours straight that first night home!

I've decided to split this trip into two posts; I hope you won't mind. My thought being- the first one (this one) will be more of a general, "Hey, look at what we did!" fun post while the second one will have specifics, locations, links, etc...incase any of you are planning a trip up to SLO soon!

On the property we stayed at was a huge backyard garden! I mean...come on now. Could that be any more perfect? I think not! Fruits and veggies were in full bloom and were free for the pickin'! Yes please. Those strawberries...oh my word friends...they were so sweet I almost died. They tasted like candy! My husband (who is not a fan of the fruit, particularly) LOVED them and said, "Now that's what a strawberry should taste like!" Couldn't agree more.

These guys have been friends for over 15 years. Amazing, right?

Cayucos Beach was as calm as it was beautiful. It reminded me of the beaches near our home and made me the slightest bit homesick.

Never take yourself too seriously.

The four of us did a little wine tasting (my favorite!) at a few local wineries :) At our favorite winery, there was a kitty named Pinot (clever, clever) and we loved him so. The friendliest thing you ever did see!

Again I say, never take yourself too seriously.

Stay tuned for part 2, coming up soon!
