Blame it on Martha Stewart, but when a party or celebratory time comes rolling around I get giddy with excitement. No, not because of the thing we're celebrating (although that's part of it)- it's because I get to decorate! Weird, right? Especially if it's at our place, I just LOVE going all out and decorating every part of the room in matching party decor (we're talking, even the bathroom gets some va-va-voom!)
Depending on the occasion, there might be streamers, balloons, ribbons, front door decorations, bunting in flag form (ahhhh I love bunting!), candles, tablecloths, etc. I actually have scrapbooking paper devoted especially to the paper flag bunting art, hehe.
The food and drink area is my favorite part to decorate. That's where little paper flags on toothpicks, little tiny bunting (usually on top of a cake), wooden utensils and paper straws come out. Bring me all the paper straws please. My collection is getting out of hand. Depending on what the color scheme of that party occasion is, I'm pretty sure I have a collection of paper straws to match.
Enter Outside the Box Papers. Made up entirely of party paper goods and decorations, they make my party hosting heart very, very happy. Plus, look at their paper straw collection! I mean, there's like 9 PAGES of PAPER STRAWS in every color and print! Like these chocolate mint straws or these multi blue striped straws! TOO FREAKING CUTE. And at $3.25 for 25?! They're priced unbelievably well.
Paper straws not your thing? That's cool. That's cool. (...what???) Maybe you're more into goodie bags and treat boxes (would you look at these MINT babies and these pink frosting ones too!?) or fancy placemats to tie your dining table all together. If that's the case, they've got you very, very covered.
Whether you're celebrating a birthday, holiday (like Thanksgiving), or special occasion, they've literally got a placemat for that. They're sturdy little suckers too! And seriously, everything is so reasonably priced. It's nice to know you don't always have to pay an arm and a leg for quality party decor :)
For my party, I choose the Audrey's Brunch Placemats and although made out of card stock- heavy card stock at that- they're surprisingly sturdy! I really like that I could toss the dirty ones away instead of having to stain treat and wash (and sometimes iron flat again). Easy peasy! Plus, the print was awesome AND the mat was a nice 11x17"! Totally big enough to fit my fancy white dinner plates on top of!
Wanting to go all out for this particular party, I chose to stick with the whole "black and gold thing" and got some black paper napkins and (of course) black and gold paper straws. This was also known as the Audrey's Brunch Party Package!
My little humble dining table was completely transformed in a matter of minutes with these babies! All I needed of my own supply to complete the look was: a large gold print fabric napkin (which I unfolded and used as a mini tablecloth thing-a-ma-jig), tea light candle holders, wooden utensils, cups and my little red bird salt and pepper shakers.
Since there were only 4 of us this time, I have plenty of supplies left over for another party! Score!
